Souped-up for Super Bowl

Super Bowl 50 festivities are well underway in San Francisco this weekend before the big game tips off Sunday afternoon.  And along with all the hype of the team match-ups, halftime show and commercials are the teams of agencies and organizations working diligently and devotedly to capitalize on one of the biggest games of the year by exposing and curbing sex trafficking and hopefully recover many lost victims.

Some of those joining the valiant efforts of the bay’s local orgs and agencies are our lovely friends from F.R.E.E. International, who conduct an amazing Super Bowl outreach campaign with the help of local law enforcement to identify and help victims of trafficking.  During this time, they will also conduct missing child searches, equip hotel employees with the tools to spot and help victims and hold school assemblies to educate local youth.

Garnering the attention of millions of people on such a coveted day like the Super Bowl is one that isn’t taken lightly.  And, a campaign to spread awareness on domestic violence and sexual assault, takes that to heart.

1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men experience violence from their partners in their lifetimes.

1 in 3 teens experience sexual or physical abuse or threats from a boyfriend/girlfriend in a year.

1 in 2 women and 1 in 5 men have experienced some form of sexual violence in their lives.

For the second year in a row, will air a domestic violence PSA during the Super Bowl to shine a light on the prevalent and many times covered-up issue of domestic violence.

Catch a glimpse of the PSA below:

No matter what is thrown our way, there is always a positive way to counter it and transform it into something powerful and profound.

How do you take something considered negative and spin it into something positive and life transforming?
